The role

As Principal Back-End Developer, you’ll be the technical backbone of a product used by over 13 million people across the UK and Ireland.
This isn’t a “hands-off” leadership gig, it’s hands-on impact.
You’ll be architecting systems, mentoring engineers, and driving the standards that define what great looks like.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading by example, designing and building scalable systems with C#, .NET Core, and Azure.
• Shaping architecture and product direction across multiple platforms.
• Coaching and mentoring your peers — helping good engineers become great ones.
• Embedding quality through TDD, CI/CD, and clean coding principles.
• Working closely with product and design to turn big ideas into elegant, practical solutions.

What you’ll bring:

• Deep technical expertise in C#/.NET Core and cloud-based architecture (Azure preferred).
• A passion for clean, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Strong judgment: you know when to be pragmatic and when to push for perfection.
• A collaborative spirit: mentoring, pair programming, and leading by example.
